Karl Ewald Olszewski

Karl Ewald Olszewski (1884-1965) was born in Czernowitz in Austria-Hungary. He studied at the Academy of Arts in Munich in the classes of Professors Herterich and Habermann. At the Baltic Sea Olszewski observed and painted migrating birds taking off and landing. As an internationally recognized artist he was a member of the Royal Society of Art in London. He was honored with the golden medal of art in Berlin (1937) and in Dusseldorf (1954). His artwork is now exhibited in museums like the Municipal Gallery in Munich and the Bavarian State Painting Collection. Olszewski died in Munich in 1965
